Home / Automatic Doors / RUN-CHICKEN Door Not Working After a Battery Change? Check These 6 Things
If a RUN-CHICKEN door stops responding right after you replace the batteries, the timing is a useful clue. Incorrect polarity, a weak new cell, drive-unit reassembly or a reset to factory mode are more likely than a sudden motor failure.
Confirm both batteries are fresh and installed according to the + and – markings, reinstall the battery guard and drive unit correctly, then test the door. Remember that current RUN-CHICKEN guidance says removing or changing batteries can reset settings to factory defaults on supported app-connected units.
RUN-CHICKEN specifically tells owners to follow the + and – markings when installing replacement batteries. One reversed cell can prevent operation.
A new package can still contain a weak cell. Use high-quality batteries of the correct chemistry for your exact T50 drive unit.
Make sure the guard is seated and the drive unit is mounted correctly after the battery compartment was opened.
Use the app or physical control appropriate to your generation. If the motor now works, the problem was power or reassembly rather than programming.
The door may be functioning in factory mode even though it no longer follows your custom schedule. See why settings can reset after battery replacement.
If the battery change happened during firmware work and the Bluetooth door now appears unresponsive, use the documented Repair process.
On supported current drive units, changing or removing the batteries can restore factory mode, so custom settings may need to be entered again.
Use our Bluetooth troubleshooting guide and confirm the exact drive unit supports the app.
