ChickenGuard Clock Stuck on AM? Here’s How to Switch It to PM

If your ChickenGuard clock looks stuck on AM, the fix is simpler than a reset. In 12-hour mode, AM and PM change as you cycle the hour value past 12.

Single alkaline AA battery

Quick answer

While setting the hour, keep pressing the up button past 12. When the hour wraps back to 1, ChickenGuard automatically changes AM to PM. You do not need a separate AM/PM menu.

Why there is no separate AM/PM switch

ChickenGuard’s 12-hour clock treats AM and PM as part of the hour cycle. That is why you may not see a separate toggle.

1. Enter the time-setting screen

Open the clock or time setting for your model and select the hour value.

2. Keep advancing past 12

Continue pressing the up control. After 12, the hour returns to 1 and the AM/PM indicator changes automatically.

3. Set the minutes and save

After the correct hour and AM/PM state are shown, set the minutes and exit normally.

4. Recheck timer schedules

If the clock was wrong, any fixed opening and closing times may also have been wrong by 12 hours. Verify both schedules before leaving the coop.

5. Consider 24-hour format if you prefer it

If your model supports changing clock format, 24-hour time removes AM/PM ambiguity entirely.
