Home / Automatic Doors / RUN-CHICKEN Door Not Showing in the App? Bluetooth Troubleshooting
If the RUN-CHICKEN app cannot find your door, the first question is not the phone. It is whether your exact door and drive unit are app-compatible. After that, Bluetooth range, power and firmware state are the main checks.
Confirm your model supports Bluetooth, stand within roughly 30 feet of the door, verify the door has power and use Add Device in the RUN-CHICKEN app. If a firmware update was interrupted, the door may appear as “Run Chicken Device” and need Repair rather than a normal connection.
RUN-CHICKEN has sold both standalone and Bluetooth-capable T50 configurations. Do not assume every T50 uses the app simply because newer replacement drive units do.
See our T50 2025 app-compatibility guide if your door is from that generation.
Current RUN-CHICKEN documentation lists Bluetooth control with a range of about 30 feet. Pair beside the coop rather than through multiple walls.
Weak or incorrectly installed batteries can prevent reliable Bluetooth behavior. Replace or recharge according to your model.
If the door was removed from the app, open Add Device and look for a RUN-CHICKEN device rather than waiting for the old entry to reconnect.
An interrupted firmware update can leave the door in OTA mode. RUN-CHICKEN instructs owners to select Repair and keep the app open until firmware is restored.
Close and reopen the app, then power-cycle the door if necessary. A five-second power removal is part of RUN-CHICKEN’s documented repair path when the device cannot be found.
Current app-connected door products use Bluetooth rather than Wi-Fi for direct control.
Bluetooth control requires you to be within local range of the door.
