Home / Automatic Doors / RUN-CHICKEN Eternal Solar Door Not Charging? 7 Checks
The RUN-CHICKEN Eternal uses an integrated solar cell and rechargeable batteries, so a falling battery level can come from poor sunlight, dirt, battery condition or unusually high energy use. Start with the panel before assuming the charging electronics have failed.
Clean the solar surface with warm water and mild soap, make sure it receives direct daylight and confirm the correct rechargeable batteries are installed. Check battery status in the RUN-CHICKEN app. If charge continues falling during good sunlight, inspect the drive unit and contact support before substituting random batteries.
RUN-CHICKEN’s maintenance guidance says to wipe the panel with a cloth, warm water and mild soap. Dirt or bird droppings reduce available sunlight.
A bright location can still be shaded for most of the charging day by a roof, tree or fence.
The Eternal is different from the standard alkaline-powered T50. Do not swap in a random chemistry simply because the battery size fits.
Use the current percentage as a trend, not just a one-time reading. Watch whether it stabilizes after cleaning and improved sun exposure.
Short days, low sun angles and cold conditions can reduce charging opportunity while simultaneously increasing motor effort.
A door that is reversing, frozen or fighting debris consumes more energy than normal.
Clean the rails, test normal movement and watch the battery trend during several good-light days. Persistent decline despite normal operation points more strongly toward battery or charging hardware.
No. Current Eternal documentation specifies rechargeable batteries with integrated solar charging.
Yes. Extra motor work increases power consumption even if the solar panel itself is fine.
We checked current RUN-CHICKEN Eternal product specifications and T50/Eternal maintenance guidance.
