Omlet Autodoor Wonu2019t Open or Close at the Scheduled Time? Check the Timezone

If your Omlet Autodoor is programmed for a specific time but opens late, closes late or misses the schedule, the cause may be a mode or timezone problem rather than the motor. Smart Autodoor users should check the timezone registration before rebuilding the whole schedule.

Quick answer

First confirm the firmware is current and whether the door is actually in Time Mode or Light Mode. Light Mode has a built-in 15-minute confirmation delay. In Time Mode, Omlet says an incorrectly registered timezone can cause schedule problems; changing to a different timezone and then selecting the correct one again can force the server to register it properly.

1. Confirm whether you are using Time Mode or Light Mode

A door in Light Mode is responding to measured brightness, not a clock schedule. If you expect an exact 6:30 a.m. opening, use Time Mode.

Our timer vs light sensor guide explains the tradeoff between exact times and seasonally adaptive light control.

2. Account for the built-in Light Mode delay

Omletu2019s current support documentation says the light level must remain beyond the selected threshold for 15 minutes before the door operates. That delay is intentional so temporary shadows, headlights or clouds do not trigger the door.

3. Update Smart Autodoor firmware

If you use the connected Smart Autodoor, check for a firmware update in the app or control panel before changing several settings at once.

4. Check the timezone in the Omlet app

The Smart Autodoor uses a timezone setting associated with the device. Omletu2019s troubleshooting guidance says a timezone can occasionally fail to register correctly with its server.

5. Force the timezone to register again

If the displayed schedule looks right but the door acts at the wrong clock time, change the device timezone to a completely different one, save it, then return to the correct timezone. This forces a fresh registration.

6. Recheck both schedules

After correcting the timezone, verify opening and closing values. Also check whether daylight-saving changes affected your expectation.

7. Check for error messages

If the time and timezone are correct but the door still does not move, look for a Door Fault or other message. At that point, the problem has moved from scheduling to physical or electrical troubleshooting.

8. Test one manual cycle

Open and close the door manually while you are present. A successful manual cycle tells you the motor can move the panel, which makes a schedule or mode setting more likely than a mechanical jam.

Frequently asked questions

Why is my Omlet Autodoor 15 minutes late?

If you are using Light Mode, that may be normal. Omlet builds in a 15-minute confirmation delay after the selected light threshold is reached.

Can the Omlet timezone be wrong even if the schedule looks right?

Yes. Omletu2019s support guidance specifically recommends changing to another timezone and then back to the correct one if registration appears wrong.

Should I factory reset the door first?

No. Check mode, firmware, timezone and error messages before taking the more disruptive step of a full reset.
