Home / Automatic Doors / RUN-CHICKEN Anti-Pinch Not Working? Test the Safety Stop Safely
Current RUN-CHICKEN drive units include an anti-pinch safety feature that should pause or reverse the door when it detects resistance. If your door keeps forcing downward instead, treat that as a safety problem rather than a normal calibration issue.
Confirm Anti-Pinch is enabled in the RUN-CHICKEN app on supported models. Clear the rails, then test with a safe soft obstruction while standing at the door. The door should stop and reverse when resistance is detected. If it does not, stop automatic closing and contact RUN-CHICKEN support.
RUN-CHICKEN’s current quick-start guidance states that the safety stop must be enabled in the app on supported Bluetooth models.
Dirt and debris can create constant resistance and make it harder to tell whether the safety system is responding normally.
Use a soft, non-living obstruction that will not damage the door. Do not use your hand, a chicken or any body part as the test object.
RUN-CHICKEN describes the anti-pinch system as stopping and reversing when resistance is detected, then trying to close again.
Power Mode increases motor force for ice, snow and debris. It is not a substitute for a functioning anti-pinch feature.
Until the safety feature is confirmed, use manual supervision rather than allowing an unattended closing cycle.
The current safety system is designed to stop and reverse when resistance is detected, but any failed safety feature should be treated seriously.
No. Features and programming differ by generation, so check your exact drive unit.
