Home / Automatic Doors / Omlet Autodoor Keeps Disconnecting From Wi-Fi? 6 Checks
An Omlet Smart Autodoor that repeatedly drops off Wi-Fi is usually dealing with firmware, signal strength or antenna issues rather than a failed door motor.
Restart the control panel, confirm firmware is current and check Wi-Fi strength. Omlet says signal below about 30%, or signal that jumps by more than 10% over a short period, may be too weak for a stable connection.
A clean restart is the first step because it clears a temporary connection state without erasing your entire configuration.
Check the installed firmware from the panel or Omlet app. Connectivity fixes can depend on current firmware.
Do not judge signal by how well your phone works indoors. Check the door’s own reported Wi-Fi level at its actual location.
Omlet’s current troubleshooting says Wi-Fi strength under 30%, or rapid variation of more than about 10%, may not be stable enough. Move the router closer or add an extender if practical.
A damaged or poorly connected antenna can create disconnects even when the network itself is healthy.
If reliable networking is impossible at the coop, offline operation may be better than letting the panel repeatedly hunt for a weak connection.
Repeated reconnect attempts use power. If battery life is also poor, see our Omlet battery-drain guide.
Omlet treats signal below about 30% as potentially too weak for stable operation.
It can, provided the extender itself has a good connection back to your router and is positioned closer to the coop.
